At cultural centre De Eendracht in Gemert, it is not only the talent on stage that shines, but also the new lighting in the theatre. Cultural centre De Eendracht in Gemert recently underwent an impressive transformation, with the complete renewal of the lighting in both the theatre and the corridors.
New lighting plan
For the stepped ceiling of De Eendracht, Ata Tech designed a new lighting plan, with a nod to the old design. The theatre is now equipped with beautiful CLS RGBW Decostar star luminaires that create an enchanting star-shaped projection on the ceiling. The also installed atmospheric recessed spotlights can be perfectly dimmed to 0. With this upgrade, every performance is taken to the next level by a harmony of colour, light and emotion!
Perfect dimming
A key consideration in a theatre is the precise dimming of lighting, with the transition from complete darkness to subtle light being the most challenging. This should feel natural and the light should not switch on abruptly. To achieve this flawlessly, a 16-bit DMX control was chosen, allowing each spotlight to be individually dimmable. For an even more natural effect, the spots provide extra warm light at low light intensity and, at full power, the light colour of a traditional halogen lamp (dim to warm).
Control
The entire system is controlled by Pharos lighting control, which provides simple operation via a touch panel accessible from the office, stage and control room. Theatre companies also have the option of simply plugging into the sACN/DMX network and controlling the ceiling lighting with just a few control channels.
The Eendracht’s theatre also performs as a cinema, with the Pharos lighting controller programmed so that the projector switches seamlessly between different lighting scenarios in the hall at start, end, commercials and breaks. A perfect integration!
